The life of a door to door salesman is nothing like how most people perceive it to be. Sure there are people that are only in it for the sale and are swindlers and thieves, but that has not been my experience or the experience of some of my closest friends.

The life of door to door sales is not for the faint of heart. It requires a certain person to trudge ten hours a day in the blistering heat of summer being told no time and time again. While there is plenty of rejection, it is worth the feeling of accomplishment when someone says yes.

Every single time someone answers the door, it is always a surprise as to who responds on the other side. Most door to door sales are based on connection and the first15 seconds of interaction. It is exhilarating and satisfying when you can connect with someone on such a quick time frame. This is an expertly crafted skill that takes hundreds of hours of perfection.

Determination, hard work, and patience are essential to push through the daily grind and separate the successors from the failures. Critiques have a lot of connotations towards summer sales, which is mostly due to their own failure, lack of determination, or pessimistic outlooks. However, with proper training, good management, and persistence, summer sales can be a life-changing experience.
